Dodge City KS

Our first stop on the 2018 road trip, Dodge City Kansas offered a glimpse back in time to the Wild West as well as some of the best steaks I've ever had. During our stay, we put up at the Super 8 motel and began our explorations from there by first stopping at the visitors center to find out exactly what we should be trying to see while in town. We did a quick walk around town due to it being late and most of the attractions being closed at that time and enjoyed seeing the walk of fame plaques, various statues, and historical markers. The next morning we headed to Boot Hill Museum which is a must stop for anyone into the Wild West, Native Americans, Wyatt Earp, or Gunsmoke fans. The museum features a re-creation of an entire 1800's town, tons of artifacts, a gift shop, and a few original buildings you can explore. Now Dodge City is the "Queen of the Cow Towns" and as such, the stockyard overlook is something we had to visit and I was determined to find a g
